I have a dragon soyo MB 845PE lite with onboard LAN Vista doesnt recognise my NIC so I cannot activate or update over the internet. :( I read that it is possible to install XP drivers but I am having activation issues as soon as I log in and dont get the chance to install drivers. Any suggestions would be great I have installed 3 times for a total of 6 wasted hours. Apart from really slow Vista looks good. P4 2.53 1 GB ram agp ati 9800 Michael

Vista and 845PE chipset
Not the same, but similar - I'm using an ASUS P4PE (845PE) with on-board LAN and had to install the LAN driver that came with the board (in my case it was a Broadcom driver for XP).

Thanks for the info Rusty, Unfortunately I dont get to the stage Vista will allow me to install XP drivers. I can sometimes get into safe mode but in safe mode you dont get the option of XP drivers. If I could sign in in normal mode there is an option for XP driver installation. Nevermind just means another 2 hour install. thanks again. michael
